Product 2: Emergency Kit

The reason why I chose this as my first product because this is something I did since I was little and I have been loving it ever since. Ballet has impacted so much in my life. It taught me so much. Hard work should be done with a smile. Ballet is a sport. I mean between all the blisters, pulled muscles, cracked toenails..etc its not for the weak. Its a total workout. What makes it look different from other activity is that you have to make it look effortless. Its like lifting heavy weights but having a smile plastered on your face. Its a strong mental game to be able to look graceful while enduring the physical pain.

This translates into other areas of my life. I welcome hard work into my life and I do it with a smile on my face.

For this project, I was both excited but worried at the same time because of the amount of assignments we had during the time. But I managed to get it done in time :D

Anyways, here are some pictures to show my process before coming up with my own monogram spelling RBC.

I really love hand lettering and calligraphy and so I went with the idea to use calligraphy. I did a few and finally I got to this.

For this, I took a sketch book cover and I drew my monogram out, and cut them.

FINAL MONOGRAM PROJECT

In this box, it contain my first ever ballet soft shoe, my first ballet skirt, a few keychains that I've hunged on my ballet bag, bobby pins and hair tie.

Most people don't know but I am an athlete and I train under team Malaysia for short track speed skating. I do other sports such as netball, rock climbing, dancing (ballet, contemporary and hiphop), track and field, and volleyball. I've been doing sports ever since I was little and I've always loved it. But, I am very prone to injuries. I got the idea to put my monogram on my emergency kit not just I wont get confuse with my other teammates whose kit is whose but it is also something very important and personal to me. Injuries are horrible when it comes to doing sport because not just it restricts movements but you basically just cant do the sport at all and it sucks.

In this bag, it contains my basic emergency needs like band-aids, muscle ache gel, Ethylchloride, spray on dressing (it stays on and protects wounds longer and it is waterproof), Kinesio tape, scissors (to cut the tape) blister plaster, bruise gel and mosquito bite relief cream (whenever I go outside and climb, mosquitoes tend to bite me more than my friends .-.) and antiseptic cream.

For this last product, I took my tote bag which I usually put my polaroid camera in with few box of films and filters inside. I decided to put my monogram on the bag is because it is also something personal to me because I bring it almost everywhere I go whenever I travel. I decided to put my photo book inside the bag because it brings back a lot of memory from senior high school. I bind the book by myself, and wrapped it in denim cloth and put it in the tote bag.
