Assignment 2 - Art Movement
ART MOVEMENT
The reason why I chose to draw my skates because it is something personal to me. Not many people know about this but I train under team mas. (Team Malaysia). Therefore I chose black and orange for my blades and skate guards because our suits are in that colour
For this assignment, I was told to draw whatever I see around my room, and then add any art movement I like inside. I was both excited and scared at the same time. Excited because I have done quite a few art movement pieces from Still Life by Giorgio Morandi, and I did a recopy painting of an Impressionism period: Monet Painting in his Studio Boat by Edouard Manet.
For my first sketch, I drew a few picture of my skates from different angles
I developed my ideas and painted them using palette knives to mimic the impressionism movement. Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement characterised by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes.
skate guards
I tried to put on a very tonal and subtle colour for my skates and I failed but it was a good mistake, I learned that I need a very soft colour with a greyish tint.
